Next I installed adjustable coilovers. I decided to go with the Solo Werks S1 coilovers after seeing they had many good reviews, basically labelled the best of the cheap “entry-level” coilovers. So I decided to give them a shot.
I was quite impressed when I received them, they included lubricant for the threads and an instruction manual that was that specifically for the e36. For $500usd coilovers I though that was a nice touch.
While there I also installed new top mounts and installed the reinforcement plates front and rear.
Here is how it sat after a quick 10 minute drive.
Overall I was impressed with the Solo Werks S1 coilovers while I had them on this car. Not bouncy or harsh at all, they rode very well actually. And the thread lubricant and car specific manual were nice touches, made them feel like a premium product. For the price they were great, I’d happily buy them again.
