KW Coilover Kits

KW are one of the most renowned suspension manufacturers in the world.

Having been involved in the car tuning industry since the 1992, and being the first to manufacture a suspension kit to get an approval from the Technical Control Board in Germany in 1995, they have been in the game since the beginning.

One thing that KW is best known for is making very high quality coilovers, particularly when it comes to their corrosion resistance.

KW use a special stainless steel called INOX-LINE for their shock bodies, which is specifically designed to never corrode. This stainless steel has undergone salt spray endurance tests of 220 hours to ensure it will last.

The spring perches are also made of a special polyamide composite material which is designed to be strong enough to support the spring while eliminating the chance of corrosion or seizing, even in the harshest weather conditions.

To back this up, KW actually offer a lifetime guarantee, so you will never have to worry about your coilovers rusting or seizing, no matter where you live.

When it comes to the springs and dampers, KW spend a significant amount of time testing and tuning every damper model for the specific application.

They have their own 7 post Driving Dynamic Test Center where they fine tune the suspension, as well as comprehensive testing on the Nürburgring.

This ensures that every single kit is a perfect balance of comfort and performance, made to work specifically with that particular vehicle.

All KW coilovers are made in Fichtenberg, Germany at their production plants.

KW definitely doesn’t take any shortcuts when it comes to their coilovers. And while they certainly are not cheap, you are getting a quality product that has a lot of engineering and technology behind it.

KW V2 Coilovers

V2

The KW V2 are the next step up, with the main addition being the ability to adjust rebound dampening using KW’s TVR-A (Twin Valve Rebound – Adjustable) technology.

The TVR-A system gives you 16 clicks of rebound dampening adjustment, allowing you to choose either more comfort or more handling control.

This system is a KW patented technology which allows the damper oil to pass through an adjustable, conical valve during low piston speeds, while the main rebound valve opens during high piston speeds to allow a larger flow of oil.

This significantly increases ride comfort without affecting the high speed damping, and also allows you to fine tune the ride.

The V2 kit also comes with all the other features of the V1 kit, and is perfect if you are looking for a high quality street coilover while having the ability to fine tune the dampers to your liking.

Features include:

  • Ride height adjustment, typically from 10-50mm (1/4 -2 inches), done by spring perch
  • Twin tube dampers and springs specifically tuned for each vehicle
  • 12-level rebound dampening adjustment

KW V3 Coilovers

V3

If you are looking for a more performance oriented suspension setup and even more control, the KW V3 are for you.

Designed as a track coilover for the road, the KW V3s give you independent rebound and compression adjustment, allowing you to fine tune the dampers to the precise settings to suit your driving style and comfort needs as well as specific vehicle alterations like weight, tyres and more.

These coilovers are KW’s most popular and most highly regarded coilover, and are considered one of the best street and track kits available.

The independent dampening adjustment is done by both the TVR-A system of the V2s, combined with a TVC-A system which adjusts the low speed compression.

The TVC-A system is designed to give you control over the low speed compression settings, while if a sudden high speed compression is to occur, the needle valve and main valve will fully open, acting like a “blow-off” to avoid transmitting unwanted forces to the chassis of the car.

This is not only beneficial for the car and its performance but also for ride comfort.

If you are looking for a street coilover that will also perform at the track, and gives you a high degree of adjustability, the V3s are for you.

Features include:

  • Ride height adjustment, typically from 10-50mm (1/4 -2 inches), done by spring perch
  • Twin tube dampers and springs specifically tuned for each vehicle
  • 12-level rebound dampening adjustment
  • 16-level low speed compression adjustment
  • KW’s patented TVR-A and TVC-A damper adjustment systems
  • INOX-LINE stainless steel shock bodies
  • Polyamide composite spring perch
  • Trapezoid adjustment threads designed to prevent dirt from getting trapped
  •  Lifetime warranty
  • Rebuildable by KW

KW V5 kit

V5

The ultimate coilover that KW make.

Using their successful motorsport technology, KW have made the ultimate performance coilover with 4-way dampening adjustment, solid piston technology, series connected valves and more.

The V5’s are designed to give fast and precise damping for sports cars and supercars, reacting directly even with tiny steering movements and small spring travel.

The use of solid piston dampers gives the chassis much more support, and depending on the vehicle body, allows for lower spring rates to be used.

Using SPCLH-A (Solid Piston Compression Low and High Speed – Adjustable) compression damping and SPRLH-A (Solid Piston Rebound Low and High Speed – Adjustable) rebound damping, these coilovers give you 4-way independent damping adjustment which is more sensitive and more precise.

You get 13 clicks on the low and high side of both compression and rebound, allowing you to fine tune the ride to 100% the way you need it.

The V5’s are only made for a select few cars, mostly supercars, so if you own one of these cars and you want coilovers with every option ticked, these are for you.
