The 10 Best 15×7 Wheels in 2024

Best 15x7 Wheels Thumbnail

15×7 is an incredibly popular wheel size for many cars.

Found on a wide range of 80s and 90s cars including Honda Civics, Mazda Miatas, BMW E30s, Volkswagen Golfs and more, as well as many muscle cars, the 15×7 wheel size is very versatile and gives you a wide range of tire choices.

Perfect for performance, 15×7 wheels give you a good balance between width and light weight, making them perfect for track days and performance.

In the post, I’m going to give you some of the best 15×7 wheel options from the best wheel brands currently available.

What to Look For When Buying Wheels for Your Car

When buying wheels for your car, there are a couple of things you want to look for to make sure they are going to fit.

Firstly is diameter and width, but since we are only discussing 15×7 wheels in this post, you already know what those are.

The other two are stud pattern (also known as bolt pattern), center bore and offset.

Stud Pattern

The stud pattern, also called bolt pattern, is the measurement of the holes that the studs or bolts will go through to bolt onto the car.

Every car has a specific stud pattern, and you need to make sure that you get wheels with the right pattern to suit your car.

For most 15×7 wheels, excluding American cars, the stud pattern is going to be 4×100. This is extremely common and applies for many BMW E30s & E21s, Honda Civics, Volkswagen Golfs, Mazda Miatas and more.

However, some other common stud patterns include 4×114.3, 5×120, 5×114.3 and more.

Make sure you find out which stud pattern your car is before ordering your new set of wheels.

Center Bore

The center bore is the hole in the middle of the wheel between the bolt holes. If you get wheels with a smaller center bore than your car requires, you will not be able to physically mount them on your car, regardless of whether the stud pattern is right or not.

Most aftermarket wheels come with extra large center bores to accommodate all car models, and then you get center bore rings to fit with the wheels to make sure they are centered properly.

However, some wheels are made to fit a specific car model, and may have a center bore that is not suitable for your car. So make sure you check this before buying the wheels.

If you do get wheels with a too small center bore, it may be possible to machine it larger so that the wheels will fit. This depends on the wheel design, and you’ll need to check with a machine shop to see if they can do it.

Offset

The offset is the measurement which dictates how far in or out your wheels will sit compared to the car body.

If you get wheels with too low of an offset, they will stick out further. If you get wheels with too high of any offset, they will sit too far in and may hit the suspension components.

The best way to check if wheels of a certain offset will fit your car is to search online for that wheel size and offset and your car model. There are many resources online that have photos of cars with many different sizes of wheels showing if they will fit.

If you can’t find that, then asking of a forum or Facebook group related to the car model will usually get you an answer.

BBS RS

BBS RS Wheel

While the BBS RS are no longer produced (at least in 15×7 wheel size), they are an incredibly popular wheel which I had to include on this list.

One of the most iconic wheels for all time, the BBS RS wheels get respect at car shows and are also an excellent lightweight option for the track, though not commonly used anymore due to their rarity and price.

Over the last 10 or so years these wheels have quickly shot up in value, with prices jumping 5-10x or more what they could once be bought for.

Now days if you want to buy a set, expect to pay a few thousand dollars.

They are a light 3 piece wheel with many aftermarket options for lips and barrels, center caps and bolts, allowing you to customize them and make them exactly how you like.

A number of cars had these as an option from factory in the 80s and 90s including BMWs, VW Golfs, Porsches, Mercedes, Corvettes, Ferraris, Nissans, Hondas, Toyotas and more.

If you want to buy a set, you are going to have to find them second-hand, but they can often be found on websites like Ebay and local car groups. You may also be lucky and stumble upon a set on an old car if you keep your eyes peeled.
